Man Arrested for Battery, 2nd degree

On June 1, 2014, deputies were dispatched to a car in the ditch on Broadway street in McNeil, Arkansas. Once arriving, deputies saw the driver run, jump a fence at a nearby residence. Deputies continue to pursue the man. Once caught, the man resisted and a struggle ensued. Once deputies attained the suspect and placed him in the patrol unit, they received a call that there was a victim at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center ER being treated for stab wounds. It was later found that their suspect was the man that had resisted. Douglas Morris, 24 of McNeil, was arrested and charged with Battery, 2nd degree, fleeing, and resisting arrest. He also has pending charges with the Arkansas State Police in reference to the car in the ditch. Morris is awaiting first appearance.
