Local law enforcement conducted an investigation into allegations rumored that a local gun store sold large quantities of firearms to unauthorized individuals. This investigation found no indication of truth to these allegations or rumors.

     Local law enforcement also investigated a reported incident of a male taking photos at Eastside School in Magnolia. The investigation did locate and identify the reported subject and found he was not a threat to the school.

    Local law enforcement agencies have provided security for the school systems in Columbia County as a precautionary step only, and there is no indication of any credible threat to local school systems. There are no schools on lockdown and SAU graduation will continue as scheduled.

   In light of the recent incidents, the public is encouraged to report suspicous activity to law enforcement for investigation.
